Os jornais divulgaram bastante o acontecimento e um deles revelou uma história genial que os filhos quiseram partilhar com os presentes na cerimónia e que também eu não resisto a partilhar com os leitores deste blogue. Ao que parece, terão dado um dia a Sophia dois patinhos amorosos, a que ela achou imensa graça – enquanto foram pequeninos, claro, porque entretanto cre&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;sceram e ela ficou sem saber o que fazer com eles. Como mulher pragmática que era, telefonou mesmo assim para o então presidente da Gulbenkian, Azeredo &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;Perdigão, propondo-lhe a oferta dos ditos patos para os belíssimos jardins da Fundação. O senhor não terá achado o facto estranho, porque marcou um dia para a entrega, convidando inclusivamente a poetisa para almoçar com ele. Sophia compareceu na data e hora marcadas com os seus patos (que, claro, ficaram a fazer parte da fauna gulbenkiana a partir desse dia) e, durante o almoço, ficou muito surpreendida quando Azeredo Perdigão a presenteou com uma medalha, tendo indagado o porquê de tal distinção (pareceu-lhe que a oferta dos pato&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;s, &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;por certo, não o justificava). Enquanto espectadora, sempre me maravilhei com a capacidade de transformação da pessoa em personagem (persona – máscara). Quem conhece pessoalmente alguém com a capacidade de se transfigurar num palco, ao ponto de não reconhecermos a pessoa, saberá a que me refiro. A colocação da máscara é invisível e imediata. No palco não está a pessoa que conhecemos, mas um outro. E isso é fantástico, mas ao mesmo tempo aterrador.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;No entanto, desde que trabalho em produção teatral, à medida que vou percebendo os mecanismos por trás dessa magia, os exercícios, os ensaios, o estudo, percebo o que há de complexo e de intenso no trabalho do actor. Não é magia, é muito trabalho e algum talento.   &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;E a emoção, matéria-prima desse trabalho, a verdadeira emoção matriz deste processo, é o medo.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Vejamos algumas declarações de actores, que tenho vindo a recolher:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;“No palco sinto-me seguro, embora pareça estar exposto.” – a sensação de segurança versus o medo de exposição.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;“Venci a minha timidez no dia-a-dia.” – o medo nos relacionamentos vai sendo atenuado à medida que o actor se expõe em cena.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;“Ser outro, ser uma personagem.” – o medo de si é suplantado na medida que se transforma no “outro”. Aí, encontra-se seguro.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;“Gosto da adrenalina antes de entrar em cena.” – o medo de falhar, de estar exposto, provoca esta adrenalina, que impulsiona o actor a vencer o próprio medo.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Note-se que o medo não é propriamente algo negativo. É a emoção mais primitiva que carregamos nos genes, desde o período obscuro da vida entre os perigos naturais, dos animais selvagens, das cavernas escuras e frias, do universo totalmente desconhecido. É a emoção que nos permitiu sobreviver. É a emoção que nos fez vencer os perigos, que nos fez criar a luz e as ferramentas de defesa. Os panos que vestem ambas as barcas descem da teia, a toda a altura do palco. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;No centro, um pano prateado sugere o rio da morte, e nele se reflectem as luzes de cada barca, na sua eterna luta pela posse das almas.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;Neste auto de moralidade do século XVI, a linguagem é possuidora de uma riqueza que a distância temporal poderá tornar incompreensível. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;Assim, a decisão de manter o texto em galaico-português integral, sem qualquer tipo de adequação à linguagem quotidiana do século XXI, foi contrabalançada pela opção de dotar as personagens com figurinos da actualidade. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;Ao apresentar as personagens com trajes actuais, tentaremos elidir um pouco dessa distância provocada pelo linguajar vicentino, de modo a facilitar a identificação com o espectador.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;Os adereços de cada personagem farão parte de jogos cénicos que possibilitarão ao espectador uma melhor compreensão do sentido do texto. O exagero nas dimensões de alguns adereços, a deturpação da função que lhes é atribuída, tudo servirá para elucidar as intenções do autor e sublinhar as suas críticas sociais.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;A caracterização das personagens de acordo com estes pressupostos é o que está na base desta encenação. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;O Diabo surge da plateia munido de um megafone, a tentar angariar passageiros para a sua barca. O seu discurso é sedutor, simpático, enérgico – um discurso publicitário. Traja como um mestre de cerimónias, com abas de grilo (o Parvo chama-lhe “Cigarra Velha”). A sua barca está em festa, pois espera receber muitos “convidados”.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;Da cintura deste Diabo marinheiro pende uma rede de pesca, pois podemos considerá-lo como um pescador de almas. Usa um espartilho, pois trata-se de uma figura andrógina (o Fidalgo confunde-o com uma mulher), e traz uma lima de carpinteiro no bolso do casaco, que tanto pode utilizar para limar as unhas como para enveredar num combate de esgrima. Apoia-se numa bengala que lhe serve de remo e de martelo (também é juiz).&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;À medida que recebe as personagens, e consoante as reacções e os comportamentos de cada uma, o Diabo transfigura-se: é irónico, alegre,&lt;span style="font-size:0;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;cerimonioso, simpático, agresssivo...&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;Por oposição ao Diabo, o Anjo apresenta-se imutável, numa quietude em que se confunde com a sua própria barca. Imperturbável, distante, frio, não olha para as personagens que o interpelam e por vezes vira-lhes as costas. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;A sua função de juiz faz com que apenas seja caloroso com as personagens merecedoras do Paraíso: o Parvo e os Cavaleiros.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;Tal como o Diabo, utiliza uma rede de pesca, instrumento que lhe permite “pescar as almas”.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;O Fidalgo apresenta-se vestido de fraque, com cartola na cabeça, condecorações ao peito e bengala na mão. Vem acompanhado de um criado que obedece às suas autoritárias bengaladas. A sua vaidade e altivez, sublinhadas pela submissão do criado, exasperam o Diabo, que afirma já ter recebido na sua barca o pai do Fidalgo.&lt;span style="font-size:0;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;O Onzeneiro, que vivia dos elevados juros cobrados pelo dinheiro que emprestava, traz um bolsão vazio e as chaves das arcas recheadas de dinheiro cosidas à própria roupa, para não perdê-las. O próprio tilintar das chaves soa-lhe a dinheiro, fazendo-o sentir-se bem acompanhado.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;O Parvo traz uma camisola de mangas exageradamente compridas e uns calções demasiado largos, símbolos de uma vida em que nada teve de seu e em que tudo lhe foi dado pela caridade alheia. A única coisa que possuiu foi a sua própria morte, e vem surpreendido e contente com essa aquisição. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;As mangas da camisola também se assemelham a uma camisa de forças, de modo a caracterizar a sua demência.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;O Judeu apresenta-se encolhido sob o peso de um bode. Da sua cabeça pendem os caracóis próprios dos judeus. Entra em cena a lamentar-se, como se no palco estivesse defronte ao Muro das Lamentações. Traz notas de tamanho exagerado, símbolo do poderio económico dos judeus, e com elas tenta comprar a sua passagem. Nem o Diabo o quer deixar entrar na barca com o bode. Acaba por lançar-lhe a rede e obrigá-lo a ir a reboque.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;O Sapateiro vem vestido com a sua roupa de trabalho, e carregado com o peso de muitas formas de sapatos. O Diabo acusa-o de roubar o povo com o seu trabalho e para sublinhar essa ideia rouba-lhe as formas dos sapatos.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;O Frade entra a dançar com uma dama que seduziu. Por baixo das vestes clericais, apresenta-se como um soldado. É um Frade mais mundano do que religioso. A sua dama traz um vestido garrido, mas um véu de beata cobre-lhe a cabeça. No início, a cena decorre com alegria, dança, jovialidade, mas o tom muda quando o Frade decide dar ao diabo uma lição de esgrima. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;O Corregedor, identificado pela cabeleira de juiz e pelo martelo, enche a cena com a sua figura imponente. Por baixo da capa traz os feitos que o fizeram enriquecer, e exibe-os com orgulho. Acompanha-o o Procurador, que carrega um enorme livro das leis. Este livro simboliza o seu conhecimento distorcido da legislação, que lhe serviu de pedestal para a sua autoridade. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;Brízida Vaz aparece no auge da sua decadência, um misto de velha corista e artista de music-hall. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;O Enforcado, com vestes de marinheiro, traz ao pescoço uma corda. À medida que conta ao Diabo como foi convencido a enforcar-se, o Diabo enrola a corda, que é tão grande como a história que o Enforcado lhe conta.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;Os Cavaleiros surgem com as vestes de Cruzados. A peça começa com uma Abertura (“O Morcego”, de Strauss) e vários trechos musicais marcam o compasso da entrada das personagens em cena. Toda a movimentação de cena obedece a uma coreografia, por vezes de forma não orgânica, mas rebuscada, exagerada, artificial. As personagens são obrigadas a respeitar as frases musicais, tendo que agir de acordo com os vários ritmos. E, de todos esses ritmos, o que predomina é o da valsa, ou não fosse o nosso protagonista um mentiroso compulsivo, cujas mentiras saem em tiradas de velocidade estonteante, a rivalizar com o compasso de Strauss. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;A ambiência sonora também é pontuada pelo som de uma caixa registadora e do tilintar de dinheiro, a música ideal para os ouvidos de José Félix, que só pensa na obtenção do dinheiro do dote de Joaquina.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;Não deixa de ser interessante que Almeida Garrett, um romântico, brinque tanto nesta peça com o Romantismo (primazia dos sentimentos), fazendo José Félix vibrar com a ideia de ganhos materiais e ao mesmo tempo pondo-lhe na boca tiradas melodramáticas de grande exagero.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;Nesta encenação, o exagero romântico é protagonizado por José Félix com a ajuda de um jornal, adereço introduzido na peça como símbolo da realidade (contraponto da mentira). Joaquina pretende aconselhar Duarte a limitar-se a dizer “as notícias senão as que forem oficiais”. No entanto, ninguém tem tempo para ler o jornal, pois todos são bombardeados pelas mentiras de Duarte, que se sucedem a um ritmo alucinante. O jornal acaba por ser utilizado das mais variadas maneiras, mas nunca para ser lido.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;A acção precipita-se para o final, detendo-se num breve momento de paralisia, em que todos ficam extáticos perante o público. É utilizada a versão em castelhano, pois na altura em que decorre a peça Portugal encontra-se sob o jugo Filipino. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;As personagens entram lentamente, como se fossem convocadas pela música. Chegou o momento de confrontarem os seus piores medos e fantasmas. A cena está vestida de vermelho escuro, numa sugestão de sangue (Maria cospe sangue e está a passar da infância para a idade adulta; o sangue derramado na Batalha de Alcácer-Quibir), de fogo (Manuel de Sousa incendeia a própria casa para impedir que os espanhóis a tomem) e de paixões (desejo, vingança, patriotismo).&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;É neste cenário de sangue e fogo que as personagens irão ajustar contas com o passado, com os seus medos que agora se tornam presentes. A utilização das velas no proscénio também tem o intuito de nos fazer recuar no tempo, até à época em que as representações teatrais eram efectuadas à luz das velas. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;Estes elementos conferem à peça uma penumbra fantástica e misteriosa, propícia ao clima denso da tragédia. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;Neste universo quase espectral, a chegada do Romeiro, que todos julgavam morto, começa a desencadear consequências trágicas, levando a um despojamento por parte das personagens D. Madalena de Vilhena e Manuel de Sousa (ambos abandonam os bens materiais), e culminando com a morte de Maria. &lt;span style=""&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;actus&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt; tem para oferecer às escolas de todo o país um conjunto de espectáculos com ligação articulada aos programas escolares. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;Acreditando que a educação dos jovens para a arte em geral, e para o teatro em particular, se forja no núcleo escolar, tentaremos, através da presença regular nas escolas, incrementar o gosto dos jovens pelas actividades artísticas.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"&gt;Muitas vezes, o primeiro contacto de um jovem com o teatro é promovido pela escola. Desse primeiro contacto nascerá uma natural reacção, positiva ou negativa.
